I have been going through a 30 day "pray for your husband" challenge. I am constantly praying for CR, however, this study has really challenged my heart in prayer. It helps me to have specific ways that I need to be praying for him as the leader of our home, and also reminds me of things that I need to be doing for him. Such as encouraging and edifying. CR and I are often sarcastic. This has led into our personal lives which is fun, however, there are times that I find I maybe should have not said something, because in his mother's eyes it may sound different because she does not know the sarcasm behind it. Or his friends. What they may hear is me making fun of or condeming CR, when we are really just poking fun. The verse that was brought to my attention was:
"Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers." (Ephesians 4:29)
As wives and friends of our husbands, we need to be lifting him up, encouraging, edifying in all ways possible. Especially in front of his friends and family, so that my love for him shines through; so that he is encouraged that I would boast about him to others. It can be as simple as, "CR is just such a great cook." Or, "CR really has a nitch for putting in windows." Whatever it is, lift up your husband every day, for this also glorifies the Lord.
Another thing .... there has been something placed on my heart that I really feel the Holy Spirit calling me on. I heard it last year and tried my hardest to dismiss it, but what the Lord needs for me to do, He will repeatedly tell me until I follow (I have found). I am asking that yall will just lift me up in prayer. I don't want to go into details or specifics because I want to make sure I hear the Lord and not others opinions or ideas. I want clarity from the Lord that whatever it is, is His will and that it is done for His glory. "Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." (1 Corinthians 10:31b)
Last one ... I am thinking about starting a hobby in children's photography. I will get back with you more on this later, but please pray about that as well. :) So many ideas and just so many hours in a day, darn it!
