Been Busy!

Wow, life is going incredibly fast right now. I love it, because that means that we are busy and not idle; however, I miss my friends and family that I do not get to see all the time. I haven't gotten to even TALK to my best friend since the first week of school! I know I can call on my way home from school (between 5:30 and 6:30) to catch up with my buds, but that is dinner and spend time with your family time. I am sorry and I promise to call who I can this weekend. This weekend I am headed to Montgomery which means a 5 hours drive all by myself. I am leaving early Saturday morning, so if I wake you, my apologies ahead of time! :)

I am headed to M-Town because sweet Kyleigh is having surgery. She is having her anoids (spelling?) taken out and getting tubes put in. This is a huge deal for this precious 5 year old, so her Lala is coming to save the day.

I am going back to Montgomery next weekend because Daddy got A&M vs. OU tickets. I am sure you are thinking, "why in the world would she go all that way 2 weekends in a row?" My reply, "To get to visit with everyone!" The weekend trips are so short that when I go, I never get to spend good quality time with the ones I want. I run around trying to get in as many people as possible and then I miss out on quality!
What have we been up to? Besides school everyday, our FAITH semester is keeping us out until 9:00 on Tuesday evenings. This is such a great program ... if you want to know about it, just ask. Basically, we go out and welcome new people to the Calallen area and invite them to our church. We do some ministry visits and also go out and pray/visit with people whose names are on our prayer cards. FAITH stands for the way the Bible tells you to be saved. :) So yes, there are people getting saved on these visits and it is amazing to see how the Lord works.

We are excited when the weekends come, but really it is just Saturday that ends up being the "weekend". When Saturdays are booked, we almost DREAD the weekend because it wears us out even more! Sundays are church in the morning and then Experiencing God in the evening. Another amazing study we are going through that is changing and challenging us right and left. Whew, I am worn out talking about it. Then there was the wonderful last Sunday. CR was such a trooper. After church we had to meet at the school to decorate the halls for homecoming. I thought it would take an hour or so. Try more like 5. What did my awesome husband do that whole time? Helped us decorate! Watch the football games on my computer!! Then take a nap! Not a single complaint!
CR is super duper excited right now. He got a great opportunity about 2 weeks ago. His friend called him and asked if he would be interested in being a duck guide for a client on the King Ranch. He is more than beside himself. You should give him a call so that he can explain it all to you. For now, though, her are some pics of their set up for those duck enthusiasts out there that will understand it all.

To send you off Lauren Kay style, just a little snapshot of what I do at work on a daily basis!

Well, not everyday. Just on Fridays. This was nerd day with some of my nerds. :) I am very proud too. I am the Sophomore class sponsor and we have won the VICTORY spirit stick for 3 pep rallies in a row! It is a school record. Usually the Juniors and Seniors win. Those of you that know me, though, know that I would not let that happen. School spirit is just built in my system. We have wooden blocks and bottle shakers that we made so that we are the loudest. I know, serious stuff! I BLEED MAROON!

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. 2 Tim. 2:15
