Oh how I love weddings. And no, friends, I am not being sarcastic. I just LOVE them for so many reasons. The main reason is a little selfish I must admit. I feel like when CR and I go to weddings, it blatantly reminds us (me anyway) of what I committed to do a year and a half ago. I know I see him everyday and that should be my reminder. My ring, too. And they are. But there is just something about being at a wedding, hearing the vows read, the prayers prayed and some tears shed that make me just grab CR's hand in a different way. Very refreshing and rekindling to my heart. Some of my very best friends have gotten (and are fixing to get) married this year and it is so exciting for me to see them take this vow. These are friends that I have grown up with and know some really great embarrassing stories about. I know fights and petty little things we have gotten upset about. I know past crushes and broken hearts. So seeing my friends walk down the aisle to the one that He created for them just thrills me through and through. My prayers for them are being answered one by one in His perfect timing. It makes my heart smile.
I also really really enjoy these weddings because it is as if each one is a partial class reunion, each with different attendees. It is so fun catching up with friends that wish you had stayed in contact with more. That is the hardest thing for me in growing up and having all these responsibilities ... it is so hard to make ALL relationships equally important. Unfortunately, since we are so far from everyone, CR and I have to be very decisive and thoughtful about each trip up that way ... who can we see this time that we have not seen in awhile? We still need to keep up with our closest friends too ... and then there is family. So these weddings bring us a great opportunity to catch up and hope that we will see them more along down the line.
John David and Kristin in January!
John and Chelette in March. Expecting a baby soon!
Mariann and Micah in April.
CR and I a year and 7 months later :) Still as happy as day one. Actually, happier if that is possible!
Some of my fave snaps from The McCartney wedding this weekend:
Before we were too salty!
First dance :)
Ms. Lori and Matt. She was so happy for him. And she taught him how to dance very well! :)
She just adores her Tio.
