I do not even know where to begin! So much has been going on since I last left you. Let's see:
1. I passed my EC-4 TExES (praise God!) so I am now certified to teach the young lil' ones. In search of an Elementary position as we speak.
2. My dad turned 57. Such a great dad. And I was actually there for his birthday this year. Yay ... love you daddy!

3. Kyleigh has gotten so much taller since the last time I saw her (I think in March sometime!!).
4. I went to Florida for a week with The Fellowship of The Woodlands. The Lord did some amazing things not only in the student's hearts, but mine as well. The worship services were so great and the preaching was even better. They have some great quality, foundational pastors there and I heard some things that I really needed to hear. You know, it is funny that you never know you have certain problems or sins until you ask the Lord to reveal your "rocks". Let's just say I threw quite a few rocks into the "sea of forgiveness" while I was there.
5. I got to catch up with Megan while I was in College Station and Montgomery. That was very refreshing. I really miss her and getting to see her atleast twice a week.
6. Father's day came and as expected, it was hard for us Hemken's. I thought I was ok with it all, but then in the middle of the priest's prayer at my grandmother's church I began to bawl. Like a baby. I do not know what overcame me but it did. I saw my grandpa in my dad. I saw Steve in my dad. And I could not hold it in. We paid our respects to their grave sites. Momma made a pretty cross with some flowers for Grandpa until his headstone comes in. Tough stuff, but good for us to all be together.
7. E and Kyleigh now have their own house. I did not get to spend as much time as I wanted to there, but maybe next time.
8. Harvest is going to begin in one week. One week. Yikes. It is gonna get really busy at Patrick Farms, but atleast this year I know what to expect.
9. Koda is much bigger than she was when I left her 2 weeks ago. She is now 21 pounds at 3 months. She can jump on the couch if she gets a running start. And I have to hide everything from her!
10. Bethany and Kevin are getting married in T minus 10 days. I have my short toast prepared. I had a nice little memoir of a toast, but I couldn't get through it without crying. I don't want to be that maid of honor, so I cut it down to sweet and simple. Simplicity is what I think of when I think of my best friend anyhow, so it fits!
CR took these pics, so we do not know which is which. I think that Kitty is holding Porter (above).
Which means this is Caleb. Either way, they are precious and growing!
The proud, proud parents!
UNTIL NEXT TIME ....
