So I finally got to talk to my bestie. Someone who I care for deerly and have not gotten to talk to in too long. Guess what? We are both teachers ... so that happens. It should not, but it does. Today I got to talk to her and it was so refreshing. After a long day, a friends heart and ear mean so much. Bethany is the best listener ever. I realized this after we had moved apart from each other and only had the phone to keep us in touch. She listens so quietly. Most people (me included) tend to "uh huh, uh huh" as you go through your story, almost rushing you. Not Beth. She listens. Sometimes I almost wonder if she is still there and then when I come to the end and here the, "that is really great Lauren", it really makes me smile because I know she knew and really cared about everything I said. I am going to try to hear that listening more often.
Babies ... my friends are having them right and left. And family. Here are two of the latest. The first is Kami and Dustin's baby girl, Lily. Beautiful, wonderful, precious, heaven sent Lily. Enjoy.
Then there is Eva. We have not met Eva Louise Patrick yet, but we think she is beautiful. She is Rob (C.R.'s brother) and Meg's. They live in San Antonio and we are hoping to get to see them over the Christmas holiday.
